Materials and care basics for wholesale stone jewelry
Every Turquoise Trade House design lists base metal, finish, plating, and stone separately. Base metals are Brass, German Silver (nickel silver — not sterling), or Copper, offered unplated or silver-plated. Silver plating is a thin surface layer that can wear with use; thickness is published only when verified. Stone names follow the Stone Library classifications. Basic care: wipe dry after wear, avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic cleaners unless a product says otherwise, and store pieces separately to limit scratches.

How we label materials
Each product separates base metal, finish, plating, and stone. German Silver is disclosed as a base-metal alloy — see German Silver vs sterling. We do not invent certifications, nickel-free claims, or sterling claims.
Silver plating
Plating is a thin silver-colored layer over the base metal. Thickness is published only after verification is recorded. Expect normal wear on high-contact surfaces over time; that is a materials fact, not a defect by itself.
Stone naming
Stone names follow the Stone Library. Classifications and treatments are shown as confirmed only when supplier documentation or testing supports them. Turquoise is the hero stone in the assortment; other stones appear across the line.
Care basics for retailers
- Wipe pieces with a soft dry cloth after wear.
- Keep away from perfume, bleach, and chlorinated water when possible.
- Store separately to reduce scratch and tangle damage.
- Do not assume ultrasonic or chemical cleaning is safe for plated or stone-set jewelry.
- Share the metal and stone disclosure on the tag so customers know what they bought.
