Turquoise is a strong seller for Western boutiques, gift shops and online stores, but finding a reliable source is harder than it looks. Search results mix retail shops, overseas marketplaces and genuine wholesalers, and many listings make claims you can't safely repeat to customers. This guide answers a simple question, where to buy wholesale turquoise jewelry, and then walks through what the buying process looks like once you've found a supplier.
The main places retailers buy turquoise jewelry
Direct from a manufacturer
Buying from the company that makes the jewelry gives you the most information: the base metal, the stone line, and whether the same design is available in other metals. It usually also gives you more consistent restocks, because the maker controls production. Turquoise Wholesale Direct is a manufacturer. We make every design in Brass, German Silver or Copper and ship from the USA.
Wholesale distributors
Distributors carry several brands and can be convenient if you want one invoice for many styles. Ask how well they know the materials. A distributor that can't tell you whether a stone is stabilized or dyed will leave you guessing on your own tags.
Trade shows
Western trade shows let you handle pieces before you buy. The WESA show, for example, runs January 19–22, 2027 at the Dallas Market Center. Shows are great for discovery; just know that show specials and minimums often differ from year-round terms, and get the material details in writing.
Online marketplaces
Large marketplaces have huge choice and low prices, but they're also where the most inaccurate descriptions live. Dyed and composite material labeled "natural turquoise," and base metal called "silver," are common. If you buy there, test a small batch and rewrite every description yourself.
Before you apply: what to have ready
Wholesale suppliers sell to businesses, so expect a short application. Have these ready:
- Your legal business name and the name customers know you by
- Store type (boutique, gift shop, online store, distributor) and website or social links
- Business address and country
- A rough idea of order frequency and the categories you plan to carry
At TWD you can apply for a wholesale account in a few minutes. Wholesale prices, MOQs and full product details are shown on every product page.
How an inquiry-and-quote order works
Some wholesale sites work like a retail store, with a cart and a checkout. We don't. Turquoise and stone jewelry has options that affect price: metal, finish, quantity and sometimes stone variation. So we work on a quote. Here is the process, step by step:
- Browse and shortlist. Explore by stone, category or metal. Product pages show the stone line, treatment disclosure and available metals.
- Build an inquiry. Add designs and quantities, then choose the metal (Brass, German Silver or Copper) and finish (natural metal or silver-plated) for each.
- Send it. We receive it straight away. There's no cart and no online payment.
- Receive a formal quote. We send a quotation in your currency with item prices and a shipping quote for your order.
- Confirm. Review the quote, accept it or ask for changes. Our team then confirms the order and payment details with you directly.

What to look at on a product page
When you're comparing turquoise jewelry, these details on a product page tell you most of what you need:
Stone line and treatment
Every product should name the stone and say whether it is stabilized, dyed or composite. Most turquoise on the market is treated; GIA notes turquoise is commonly treated to improve durability and appearance. On a page like our Kingman Turquoise Oval Ring you'll see the stone line and its disclosure right on the page.
Metal and finish
Look for the base metal by name. German silver should be identified as an alloy that contains no silver. Silver-plated pieces should be described as plated. We don't quote a plating thickness, because we haven't had it independently verified.
Minimum quantities
Check both the order minimum and the item MOQ. Ours: the order minimum is US$399, and each item shows its own MOQ.
Choosing a first product to test
If you've never carried turquoise before, rings are a low-risk test. They're small, giftable and easy to display near the register. Our Kingman Turquoise Marquise Ring is a classic shape that works in all three metals. If rings sell, step up to statement cuffs; our guide to wholesale turquoise cuff bracelets covers what to look for.
You can also browse by stone family. The Kingman Turquoise page lists every design in that line, which makes it easy to build a single color story.
Questions worth asking before you commit
Even with a supplier you like, a few questions up front save trouble later:
- Is the photo the product? Ask whether images show the actual item. Stone patterns vary piece to piece, so you want photos that show the real range.
- Which stones are treated, and how? You should get a clear answer for each stone line: stabilized, dyed, composite, or shell.
- Can I reorder the same design next season? Ask whether designs are ongoing or one-off runs.
- What happens if something arrives damaged? Know who to contact and what they'll need (photos, order number) before it happens.
Good suppliers answer these quickly and in writing. If a vendor goes vague on materials, that vagueness will end up on your tags.
Common mistakes on a first wholesale order
- Buying only what you like personally. Choose for your customers. Look at what already sells in your store, by color and price, and match it.
- Ignoring metal tone. If your store sells mostly silver-tone accessories, a table full of copper may stall. Order the same design in two metals and let customers decide.
- Copying supplier descriptions blindly. Even from us, read the disclosure and make sure your tag says the same thing in your own words.
- Spending the whole budget on one order. Keep some back for a reorder of what sells in the first month.
After the order: reorders and deals
Reorders work the same way: build an inquiry, get a quote. Every Sunday we also run a one-day Crazy Deal. Check the deals page on the day it runs. It's a good way to try a new stone line at a lower cost.

Frequently asked questions
Can I buy turquoise jewelry wholesale without a store?
You need a business, but it doesn't have to be a physical store. Online shops, market vendors and distributors can apply. Retail customers can't buy from us.
Why isn't there a checkout on your site?
Because metal, finish and quantity all affect price, we quote each order. You send an inquiry and we reply with a formal quotation, including shipping, in your currency.
How long does approval take?
We review applications individually and reply by email. Wholesale prices and item MOQs are shown on every product page.
Do you ship outside the US?
Yes, we quote international orders. Buyers in the EU and UK can order our designs in brass only.
